Title:
Acer Aspire 5943G | No sound on speakers but sound with headphones
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
The computer is an Acer Aspire 5943G.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.10.
There's sound on the headphones but none on the speakers.
When in alsamixer the speaker volume is at 0 and can't be changed.
Have tried editing the alsa-base.conf file by appending
options snd-hda-intel model = acer and
options snd-hda-intel model = genetic
with no succes.
The aplay -l command gives me following information:
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: MID [HDA Intel MID], device 0: ALC670 Analog [ALC670 Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

I've tried installing HDA-analyzer, but it says:
