integred microphone doesn-t work

Ubuntu notebook remix 9.10
Microphone volume meter is avaible, but not recording possible...
Physicaly, microphone seems to be combinated with the integred camera (camera
works).
Same problem on linux mint 8...

Open the volume control application by right-clicking on the speaker icon in

then speak into the microphone. After a few seconds, your speech will be played
back to you.
