Since every model of laptop has slightly different audio hardware, and slightly different problems, we should open a separate bug for each model. This bug is about the Asus ZenBook UX425IA.

Just a hard reset or power cycle causes it to fail. How I re-install pulseaudio: sudo apt-get install --reinstall pulseaudio I have tried just killing the pulseaudio service, and letting it restart on it's own. It restarts, but no audio. Reinstalling seems to do the trick though.
