Public bug reported:
Since upgrading to Ubuntu 21.04 (Hirsute), every time I suspend the
system and then resume it later, my wired network connection (in my
case, interface `enp4s0`) fails to connect and NetworkManager simply
reports that activating the connection failed, even though the
connection worked fine before the suspend.
Studying the NetworkManager logs shows the following lines multiple times:
NetworkManager[114707]: <info> [1624027125.5781] device (enp4s0): Activation:
starting connection 'Wired connection 1' (65460d17-322e-343a-90a6-1f00ac9c86b7)

DISCONNECTED
[114707]: <warn> [1624027125.5803] device (enp4s0): Activation: failed for
connection 'Wired connection 1'
I tried restarting NetworkManager but to no success. As far as I know,
only rebooting the system solves the problem. `ifconfig` shows the
interface with no ip address.
I attached the full NetworkManager log to this report. At 16:03, the
computer is suspended and it wakes up at 16:30. At 16:38 I tried
manually restarting NetworkManager but to no success.
