Ah sorry. I think this can now be closed. There has been a change in the behaviour and lock screen is no longer displayed after the first swipe. I think that this bug can be marked invalid

Install a fresh image 2. Run through the welcome wizard setting a pin 3. Do the initial Swipe on the Edges Demo 4. This reveals the Pin lock screen 5. Without typing in the pin, Swipe Down, Swipe Up, Swipe Right 6. Now type in the pin 7. You are now at the congratulations you have completed the edge demo EXPECTED: I expecte the edge demo to complete only after I unlock the screen ACTUAL: I am on the last page meaning that the edge demo is running under the lock screen and is active.
