Quick update; I just rebooted my computer to boot into 5.4.0-26-generic
and the sounds broken again. Although I can see the output devices under
pavucontrol; GP104 (High Definition Audio Controller Digital Stereo
(HDMI 2) and Built-in Audio Digital Stereo (IEC958). Playing back any
media I can see the audio levels changing but nothing comes out of the
speakers. Speaker volume is up. A thing to note is that when I run a
live usb version the audio output is called something along the lines of
"line in"

Title:
Audio devices not detected on kernel 5.11.0-27-generic. Getting "Dummy
  Device" instead

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Release: 20.04
What you expected to happen: Speakers and microphone to be detected
What happened instead: Neither speakers or microphones are being detected.
Pavucontrol shows Dummy Device

I recently bought new computer parts: Intel i7 10700k, MSI MAG z490
Tomahawk, 1TB Kingston m.2 drive and installed Kubuntu. after
installation has finished, neither my speakers, USB microphone or my
my wacom graphics tablet are being detected. Plugging in headphones
via the front headphone jack doesn't work either. This is on kernel
5.11.0-27-generic. When booting to kernel 5.4.0-26-generic via grub,
  audio works normally.

I ran alsa-info and attached the output here.

Someone on the Kubuntu IRC mentioned that it may be related to another
  bug (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=208555) and suggested
that I file a bug report here and boot into 5.4.0-26-generic until a
  fix

I'm not too familiar with bug reports so I may have missed something,
feel free to ask and I'll get back as soon as I can
