Thank you for confirming this bug.

Do you have any news when this could be addressed? This bug makes it
very difficult to listen to videos and to participate in online meetings
- speakers keep on getting cutoff.

Thanks, Rustem

Title:
[20XXS62S00, Realtek ALC287, Speaker, Internal] Underruns, dropouts or
  crackling sound

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After upgrading Carbon X1 gen 9 to Ubuntu 22.04 (from 20.04), there
appeared strange problem with speaker sound in video conferences
(Zoom) and also with Chrome (for example YouTube & Preply).

The problem is as following: the speaker sound level is reduced when
somebody speaks after a gap of silence, then the sound level is
quickly increased to normal level. This creates the very strange
fluctuating up/down sound level which when sound level is low at the
  start of each sentence.

This problem was not there with Ubuntu 20.04 on the same laptop. This
problem is also not presented when using Zoom with Windows 11 on the
  same machine.

  Thank you for your consideration.

  Best regards, Rustem
