I can manually switch to "Speakers Built-in Audio," and then all is fine. But the setting will not be sticky. After I unplug the microphone, the Output Device will again switch to the microphone. What I expected: When I plug in my microphone, Ubuntu should not change my Output Device, and sound output should continue as usual. And if I do have to change the setting manually, the change should stick. The issue is discussed here: https://ubuntu-mate.community/t/18-04-my-output-device-is-set-to-my-microphone/16613 Using pavucontrol to make the changed setting sticky, as suggested there, seems to work for me. But this is a workaround. Ubuntu 21.10.
