Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
I checked Ubuntu 23.10 and hid and usbhid are included in the initramfs: $ lsinitramfs /boot/initrd.img-6.5.0-10-generic | grep -E "/(usb)?hid\.ko" usr/lib/modules/6.5.0-10-generic/kernel/drivers/hid/hid.ko.zst usr/lib/modules/6.5.0-10-generic/kernel/drivers/hid/usbhid/usbhid.ko.zst So I assume this issue fixed. Please report back if that is not the case. ** Changed in: initramfs-tools (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to initramfs-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886149 Title: Usb keyboard does not work to enter password for encrypted disk Status in initramfs-tools package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Repeatable always: Usb keyboard does not work when cryptsetup asks password to open encrypted disk in early phase of boot.
