The speakers work correctly only after forcing the legacy snd-hda-intel driver. The microphone hardware is confirmed to be working under a Windows 11 dual boot. A momentary signal (a small blip on the input meter) is registered from the internal microphone only during the split-second that headphones are plugged into the 3.5mm jack. The default Sound Open Firmware driver fails to initialize the codec, producing ASoC: error at snd_soc_dai_startup on Digital Codec DAI: -22 errors in dmesg. Audio only works after forcing the legacy snd-hda-intel driver. Forced the legacy snd-hda-intel driver by setting options snd-intel- dspcfg dsp_driver=1. This was necessary to get speaker output. Tested numerous snd-hda-intel model options, including auto, hp-omen, laptop-amic, and alc269-hp, with no success. Used hdajackretask to manually remap several pins (including 0x12, 0x19) to "Internal Mic." While this makes the device appear correctly in the UI, no audio is captured. Verified in alsamixer that all "Capture" and "Mic Boost" levels are turned up and unmuted. Verified system and application privacy settings to ensure the microphone is not blocked. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu82.8 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2024-12-30 (194 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS "Jammy Jellyfish" - Release amd64 (20240911) NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia Package: alsa-driver (not installed) ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.8.0-60.63~22.04.1-generic 6.8.12 PulseList: Error: command ['pacmd', 'list'] failed with exit code 1: No PulseAudio daemon running, or not running as session daemon.
