That's a question for @enr0n. The patch is non-trivial and has already required 2 non-trivial rebases after other changes from upstream; I wouldn't want to impose a maintenance burden on our systemd maintainer(s). So Nick please check if you're comfortable with picking up this patch. You will first need to update systemd 258.
My own priority would be to land it upstream. I agree that we should have this bug resolved for 26.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2077538 Title: gnome-remote-desktop uses software rendering Status in GNOME Remote Desktop: New Status in gnome-remote-desktop package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: gnome-remote-desktop uses software rendering by default, which is incredible slow on some hardwares. If the user is added to the video and render group, graphics acceleration is used. These groups are not in the default, so I think it would make sense to add them.
