Open "Keyboard" settings app 4. Select "Shortcuts" tab 5. Select "Navigation" list item 6. Observe that "Switch Applications" and "Switch windows of an app directly" are both marked "disabled" 7. Click "Switch Applications" to assign a new shortcut. Press "Alt-Backslash". 8. Observe that Alt-backslash doesn't switch applications. I wasn't able to get any other key combinations to work.

I found that I had to use ccsm and change "Key to start the Switcher" in the Ubuntu Unity Plugin settings in order to remap alt-tab.
