i dunno, i'm not convinced this is a bug. the selection is "adjust brightness 
automatically" - which i would think means, i'm giving up control to the 
machine.
For instance, is i have "auto" turned off....and i turn the slider down to 
"lowest", and then check "auto" on, and it chooses "maximum"....if i slide up 
it can't change...i mean, it ends up throwing the whole scale off.
I could buy that you might want to "grey out" or fix the slider if you have the 
"auto brightness" selected to on.
agree/disagree? maybe we should assign to design.

  Steps to repro:
  1. Open Power indicator
  2. Disable auto brightness. Move the slider to change screen brightness - all 
ok
  3. Enable auto brightness. Try moving slider

  Expected result
  brightness still adjusted, but tempered based on the auto's decisions

  Actual result
  brightness unchanged
