something really wierd happened. now the ssd on which ubuntustudio trusty is installed wont boot. i had to put aside the troubleshooting and am now using my dualboot (ubuntu&mac) mcp as i have work deadlines to meet. will get back to troubleshooting as soon as i cangrab some time.
