Andreas Kemper, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg 1310780 Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information. As well, please note given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. Using the tweak described in http://www.notebookcheck.com/2560x14...n.89837.0.html this was possible for my ivy-bridge notebook with HDMI-only output. In contrast, when finally triggering "xrandr --output HDMI1 --mode 2560x1440" the display gets shortly blanked with the message "xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed". In Xorg.log the following lines can be found: [ 27635.065] (II) intel(0): resizing framebuffer to 2560x1440 [ 27635.067] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on HDMI1 using pipe 0, position (0, 0), rotation normal, reflection none [ 27635.099] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on HDMI1 using pipe 0, position (0, 0), rotation normal, reflection none [ 27635.496] (EE) intel(0): failed to set mode: Invalid argument [ 27635.548] (II) intel(0): resizing framebuffer to 1920x1200 Any idea for new valid arguments or additional changes required?
