Title:
initramfs-tools does not include uli526x network module
Status in initramfs-tools package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Binary package hint: initramfs-tools
As of version 0.85eubuntu5, 'uli526x' is missing from the 'net' section of
auto_add_modules() in /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hook-functions.
(this results, for example, in a kernel-panic when I set up LTSP (to boot
i386 clients)
and try to boot a thin client which has an Asrock 939A8X-M motherboard with
on-board
ethernet that requires the uli526x module)
(my work-around was to add 'uli526x' to the end of
'/opt/ltsp/i386/etc/initramfs-tools/modules'
and/or '/etc/initramfs-tools/modules' and then recreate the initramfs using
'update-initramfs')
