It's actually not BOM approaching street price, its the need to
maintain a specific profit margin in order to be worth the time to
produce said product...anyway, I think this discussion has gone way away
from the point and we have reached an agreement (which my original post
along these lines was trying to express).  This does not appear to be a
case of the cost of the product being driven by the cost to
design/manufacture/produce.  The cost has been set based on what
Logitech marketing feels the market will bare.  Time will tell if they
were right or not.
