There are a number of ways to scroll: there is a scroll bar on the right stick your finger on the main area and hold it down and move up and down. If you move slowly it follows precisely. If you move quickly you get the "kinetic" behavior. If you get a little enthusiastic with this a lot can go wizzing by and you miss what you want. If you 'flick' the screen it goes to the top or bottom. Put your finger on the screen and draw circles - clockwise scrolls down, counter-clockwise goes up. I personally like the draw circles, it goes fast but you still have good control.
