Besides being just another Squeezebox Player, the Touch is in a sense the SB4. It is the SB3s replacement. They are no longer making the SB3. So the Touch/SB4 is now (as soon as all the SB3s that were made are sold) the only other player besides the Transporter with a display to add to an existing stereo system. Does one get it now? Its not just an extra player added to the line that doesn't make sense to some people, it is the SB3s replacement. And it happens to have new and modern updated features over the SB3: It uses a color Touch screen It will play 24/96 native It is a "Smart" player instead of a Dumb player that HAS to have a Server for local music (excluding MP3Locker which I don't consider Local). More powerful CPU More Memory It can run the server local to the Touch. It can read files from USB or SD card Etc, Etc, Etc ...... And it is the same price as the unit it is replacing! None of this means that one has to go out and buy one or replace all there SB3/Duets. What it means is that one can if they want or if new to Squeezebox, start with SB Touch if adding a NMP to an existing stereo. -- iPhone *iPhone* Media Room: Transporter, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, Ayre MX-R Mono's, VeraStarr 6.4SE 6-channel Amp, Vandersteen Speakers: Quatro Mains, VCC-5 Reference Center, four VSM-1 Signatures, Video: Runco RS 900 CineWide AutoScope 2.35:1 Living Room: Duet, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1 Kitchen: Squeezebox BOOM Bedroom: Second Boom Bathroom: Squeezebox Radio Ford Thunderbird: Duet, Mac Mini Ford Expedition: SB Touch, USB drive ------------------------------------------------------------------------ iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69539 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
