A 32gb iPhone 3GS is fine in the car. It'd be nice if it was larger capacity and did flac, only so I did not have to maintain two libraries, but no-one is going to notice the difference in sound quality (not even if they drive a Rolls Royce). With Google's recent announcement about its maps/streetview stuff morphing into a free GPS system not only has the smart phone made car many car stereo head units redundant, they're about to make stand-alone GPS systems redundant too.
