Yes, the Transporter is better. But is it worth the extra $1000 plus for the better just to feed an external DAC, I think that is in the ear of the listener. The fact that the Touch will do 24/96 Native really closes the gap as to which to use as a digital transport. The Touch is better then the SB3/Duet but not as good as the Transporter. If it were me and I was ONLY going to feed a DAC, I would buy the Touch for the digital transport and put the other $1000 into the external DAC. The Transporter is a great digital transport with a wonderful DAC. If one is using or needs the analog (especially the XLR Balanced) outs, then the Transporter is the way to go in my opinion. -- iPhone *iPhone* Media Room: Transporter, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, Ayre MX-R Mono's, VeraStarr 6.4SE 6-channel Amp, Vandersteen Speakers: Quatro Mains, VCC-5 Reference Center, four VSM-1 Signatures, Video: Runco RS 900 CineWide AutoScope 2.35:1 Living Room: Duet, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1 Kitchen: Squeezebox BOOM Bedroom: Second Boom Bathroom: Squeezebox Radio Ford Thunderbird: Duet, Mac Mini Ford Expedition: SB Touch, USB drive ------------------------------------------------------------------------ iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=70623 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
