I think I've been unintentionally vague. Maybe I should explain what I hope to achieve.
If I buy a Touch, I plan to install it as follows: 1. Touch connected to 1TB external FAT32 drive via USB. Drive contains music files in FLAC format. 2. Touch connected to existing amplifier by coax or toslink. 3. Touch connected to router by ethernet cable. Router is garden-variety wifi. It's a happy accident that the router resides near the amp. I'd like to then be able to control the Touch using a notebook computer in another room, which connects to the home network wirelessly. Said notebook uses Ubuntu 9.10 as OS. I've downloaded and installed SqueezeBoxServer v7.4.1 on the notebook (from Logitech's website). I've read that there are some glitches right now where SBS 7.4.1 and Ubuntu 9.10 aren't getting along. There's no way to check to see if it would work properly absent a working SB device. Hence my trepidation/questions... Sorry for my ambiguity. I very much appreciate all of the responses. -- Skillet Liquor ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Skillet Liquor's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34439 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71661 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
