Well, from my point of view the Touch is already decoding AAC in the player. It seems that the server should be able to use that stream to feed RAW or lightly compressed streams to other squeezeboxes.
The problem seem to be synchronization (if the touch has to buffer lots of RAW data to synch) and bandwith, unless data can be broadcast.
