I guess my reasoning for avoiding a small pc and the touch: the touch was going to be a simple stand-alone, that did what SB3 couldn't - plug a drive in, play music, no computer/server running.
And it will, but I guess my complication is that I really wanted it to extend to a whole home audio solution. If I could add displays, remotes, etc, it would still just run without a pc. Now, ipeng seems to have gotten around the whole webUI, so I suppose it is possible to do. Any idea if there's a way to build in code to send album art to a wifi digital picture frame ;-) Alternatively, I guess I could break down and get a couple of iphones or ipod touches.
