Actually all this is teached in Business Administration courses (so cannot be wrong? in an economical sense ;) ) It's called price discrimination and a very common pattern (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Price_discrimination - see "Third degree price discrimination" and also the explanations below) to increase your income.
