I think this latest confusion is just because they were trying to get it out as soon as they could. Right after 7.5 was done, someone pushed the "go" button and didn't tell everyone in the chain. They never really had a release date, which is why I found another solution, but I think this one came down to "wait another week or so to get all the ducks in a row" or just release it. Someone decided to just release it. In the end, this way is probably faster, at least for the for the pre-order folks, even if the sales side and the retail channels are now scrambling to put resources towards actually delivering the product. You have to remember that until about 48 hours ago, I don't think anyone, including their own sales staff, had any idea when this thing was going to come out.
