My Touch is scanning an 80 GB USB drive right now. It's hooked up to a
Kill-A-Watt meter that only shows watts RMS to the nearest whole watt.
Before I plugged in the USB disk, Touch consumed about 3 watts with the
display on. When I plugged in the drive and it started scanning, power
consumption jumped to 6 watts. With the Touch screen dark/off & Touch
still scanning, it's burning 4-5 watts.

Beyond not running plugins (unless you manually install them in a more
geeky fashion?), SBS on Touch doesn't have a Web UI, doesn't transcode,
and apparently won't attempt to sync groups of players including SB1s or
SliMP3s. Here are the command-line arguments passed to SBS running on
Touch:
Code:
--------------------
--charset utf8 --noweb --notranscoding --nosb1slimp3sync --nostatistics
--noinfolog --nodebuglog --logfile syslog
--------------------
