There's the rub. The whole point of the delay was to get the Touch's built-in server working better. If you read though some of the other threads regarding painfully long scan times and outright crashes, it seems that work wasn't quite finished. I bought my Touch to use as a player with an existing server and that works great. However, I've done some tinkering with the built-in server. With a small thumb drive it worked very nicely. When I hooked up my main backup drive with 48,000 songs, it still hadn't finished a scan at 15 or 16 hours and it wouldn't play some material (M4A) that is supposed to be native. I'm a satisfied user because it does what I bought it to do, but it was sad to see reason for the delay - fixing the built-in server - still seems to have problems. I'm sure I'll tinker again, but I'm going to have to block out a good chunk of time where I don't want to play any music just to experiment. -- mlsstl ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mlsstl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77481 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
