You may well have a dud, but I'd first check (compare) volume level output between your Touch and SB3. Turn your AVR/receiver volume to MUTE, put both SB3 and Touch volumes to MAX, start playback on both players, turn up AVR/receiver volume, switch between inputs, see if hiss is still there.
