If I had very specific instructions, I would be comfortable.  

When I use my laptop to see what devices are connected to my network, I
see the following:

logs
media-sda1
media-sdb1
media-sdc1
media-sdd1
printers

All must stuff is in the "sda1" folder.  I was told that these are most
likely partitions.
