Hi I use my new Touch with my Caiman Dac, the Touch was a substantial upgrade into the same Dac over the SB3 I had previously. I've not heard a Duet though...assume it's on a level with the SB3 soundwise?
Regarding the Touch dac vs the Caiman dac.... The Touch is a VERY big improvement over the SB3 and I would guess the same jump over the Duet. Compared to the Caiman dac, I find it to be not as good. To be honest though, if I never had the dac I would probably be happy - it sounds better than the SB3 into the Beresford, so that tells you how good it is as a transport. But sound quality wise, the Touch thru the Caiman sounds quite a bit better to my ears. Thing is, my Caiman has been upgraded from standard, and I didn't have the Touch before I had it upgraded, so can't comment on the standard dac.
