This is a great device. I've been through 1st generation Squeezeboxes (back when they were Slimdevices), 2nd Gen, Squeezebox 3's (both Slimdevices and Logitech), Squeezebox Duet as well as the Squeezebox boom.
Now the touch stands apart because of the 24/96 support. I use HDTracks and some other high end hig res music stores and WOW. Also the sound quality surpasses the Duet and the v3 without a doubt. The unit is extremely well built and QA is 100% with the packaging, device sturdiness and remote quality. I've been using my Android phone + Squeeze Commander app to control this unit when I kick back in my listening room. Upon system fire up I use the touch screen to queue up some albums for listening. I'm running the server software on Ubuntu stable and have had it up for at least the past 5 years without a reboot (upgrading the packages and restarting the server software occasionally). I have about 2tb of FLAC archives which I've ripped from my cd collection of 1000's of cds as well connected to the linux server as 4x 500gb external drives, which I can plug in and out as they fail. Fully backed up with no issues for as I've said the past 5 years. Some things about the touch which really set it apart is the graphical visualization you can set upon playing the track (because of the color screen). Spectrum analyzer is really cool as is the sound meter (kind of looks like an old amplifier level). That was a nice touch indeed and adds to the ambiance of the system. I got it hooked up with the S/PDIF out into a DAC processor and quality is top notch, and as I've said the hi-res FLACs are totally awesome. I use the ethernet connection because I have a dedication to the most pure network path and as little loss of bandwidth as possible. I give it a 5 star rating, probably the best unit I've own from Logitech. What a device!
