Re your other questions: Size doesn't really matter, other than don't get them too big. Anything from 300x300 to 500x500 should be fine. SBS resizes them to standard sizes on the Touch.
Put them in the same place you would for any other SB. There are several alternatives available, and the wiki page on album artwork is a good reference (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Album_Artwork).
