John, thanks for reply; I just got back from a trip and booted up both system - Touch as my main and Duet as secondary. Controller functioned on main so I switched player to control the duet and lo and behold, it was able to access the USB library and work as before. As I did not systematically record the various steps I took last week compared to tonight, I can't offer a scientific analysis of what was going on but I will persevere and report back if any further issues arise in a more systematic fashion.
