Hello and Welcome to the Forum. As to using TinySC, it is a feature of the Touch and not the Touch's primary purpose. The Touch's primary purpose is being a NMP. The other things it does are features or gravy.
I have been using TinySC for about 9 months now. It does the job its meant to do, takes the place of a Server when one is not available. We should all remember that, TinySC takes the place of a dedicated server when one is not available. TinySC is also limited. Few plugins (just the ones built-in), no WebUI, playlist limited to 100, and so on. Due to limited resources, the Touch UI is going to respond slower then when using a dedicated server. This is not a 'problem' with Touch or even TinySC, it is a reality of the CPU and limited memory can only do so much so fast. Have you thought about building a small Atom MB Vortexbox OS dedicated Server or trying a SheevaPlug? Using a SheevPlug gets all the TinySC missing items back for about the energy signature of having another Touch running. -- iPhone *iPhone* Media Room: Transporter, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, Ayre MX-R Mono's, VeraStarr 6.4SE 6-channel Amp, Vandersteen Speakers: Quatro Mains, VCC-5 Reference Center, four VSM-1 Signatures, Video: Runco RS 900 CineWide AutoScope 2.35:1 Living Room: Duet, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1 Kitchen: Squeezebox BOOM Bedroom: Second Boom Bathroom: Squeezebox Radio Ford Thunderbird: Duet, Mac Mini Ford Expedition: SB Touch, USB drive ------------------------------------------------------------------------ iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78926 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
