I hate to tell you this but I think you would have been much happier
with the ipod touch and iPeng.  I have both and find iPeng to be a much
better controller with only one exception (no hard buttons).  But for UI
and selecting music iPeng tops the controller by a large margin.

Also Touch gives you other benefits as well, email, web, and many other
apps.
