There's often confusion over the X icons in the web interface. These
remove the song, album, artist, etc. from the -current playlist- _if_
the song, album, artist etc. has tracks in the current playlist.

The New Music list orders albums by the time last modified of the
tracks within the album (using the most recently modified track, IIRC).
If you edit the tags in your files it will usually cause the album to
"bubble" up to the top of New Music. To avoid this you can use a tag
editor that preserves the modification time of the file when saving
changes. Mp3tag is one such tag editor (see Settings > Tags > Preserve
file modification time when saving tags).

For Windows there are numerous Explorer add-ons that you can use to
change the modified time of a file. 'Here's just one of them'
(http://www.jddesign.co.uk/products/touchpro/touchpro.htm). To remove
an album from New Music, use the utility to set the date/time to be
older than all of the other albums.
