Squeezeplay is like a touch running on your pc. You can use it to control another player (the original touch) which would be what you want. In this mode it will show what is playing on the device it is controlling. You can still use your remote pointed at the original touch but squeezeplay won't show you where you are browsing etc. I.e. it's screen state is independent.
Note that the software is not really supported so doesn't work perfectly. It also doesn't have full screen mode. You can make SqueezePlay play as well. It will play via the default audio out on your windows pc. Sync doesn't really work. Moose is software that can control a squeezebox. It's written for Windows by a 3rd party.
