I think the problem might be that it sounds like you are trying to put
CD Audio on the thumb drive. Squeezebox can't read or play this. The
CDs must be 'ripped' to a format that Squeezebox can use. ALAC, MP3,
FLAC, or other format. If the iTunes files don't have DRM (protected
music), then just drag and drop the MP3 files to the thumb drive. Don't
convert them to anything or put them on a CD, just put the MP3 files on
the thumb drive. Touch should read these. You will not be 'using'
iTunes for any of this, just copying the MP3 files from the
Music/iTunes/iTunes Music directory to the thumb drive.
