if you don't have an IPOD, not sure why you'd even want to mess with ITUNES. And even with ipods/itunes I don't try to integrate this with my Squeezebox stuff. And as I've mentioned before, the problem with Itunes and artwork is that itunes stores its artwork in its own database. It doesn't move with the file unless you embed it yourself or use a script to do this. itunes is not really a secure ripper anyhow, so I wouldn't recommend using it. My advice on ripping. Go with lossless. Rip once and you can then create lossy versions of this if you want for ipods/iphones, etc. Also you want to use a secure ripper with accuraterip support. I use FLAC files. Squeezebox plays these natively. Your two choices are EAC and dbpoweramp. I use dbpoweramp (not free but well worth it, particularly the metadata sources). Go with the reference edition, 13.x is latest version. A little bit of setup time but once you explore it a bit it is user friendly and they have a helpful forum. MP3TAG will also be helpful in cleaning up tags here and there, etc. also a good user forum. many people have art stored as a jpg file within the album directory. I actually embed my art into the FLAC files (that way the art is there no matter what I do with these, where I play them, etc.). I use foobar2000 as a computer player and it does some nice things too, but you may not need this. dbpoweramp: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/ http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc-power-register.htm mp3tag: http://forums.mp3tag.de/index.php?http://www.anytag.de/forums/ http://www.mp3tag.de/en/download.html foobar2000: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=28 http://www.foobar2000.org/download -- garym ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79420 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
