John, Thank you very much for finding this. However, there is a complicating factor. As I stated a few posts earlier, I discovered there was one folder with files with large embedded images. I deleted this images from the files in my main library. Tonight I let the Vortexbox make a new backup. And it now it scans all artwork just fine! So these overlooked images were the problem.
Because this could be important for other users, I will try to find the files concerned in my backup. If they are there (it are tracks of my daughter; I'm not sure they are in my backup), I will put these files back on the drive and test if what you explained works. After that, I intend to test what speed difference deleting all embedded images make for the scanning process. As it is now, the whole scanning process (19000 tracks, together around 500GB) takes about 2:15 hours.
