I find mine works fine. But I am hard wired. I have it hibernate during the work week 8-5. And I have it set to wake up if I boot a computer or my IPeng. I have 3 terabytes and it is more than plenty of room. I recommend a home server since it has more processing power. I think you'll be more pleased with it's ability to scan files. Not sure with wireless but with the hard wired configuration no problem with it waking up.
