I don't use iTunes or apple files so I'm not an expert here, but first off is just to make sure that you are not trying to play any files that have apple DRM, nothing in the squeezebox system can decode such a file. There have been some issues with ALAC files, this is currently being worked on and I think there have been some fixes, but you may need to go to 7.6 server to get them.
