Eeh ? what he meant with Hot was that he thought it had a little high output, but that was not correct it has a 2Vrms output that's pretty normal that is no problem for any preamp to take, many CD players has outputs like this. If everything works as it should keep it at 100% This maximizes it's snr ratio and resolution. The business about 70%-80% is when using the Touch volume control while keeping the preamp at a fixed level .
