Hi paulgruson I just wanted to warn you that according to the developers running your squeezebox without a network is not officially supported, imho that kinda defeats the point of advertising a local USB port. In Beta firmware 7.6 it actually stops you from playing back music unless you have a network connected. See here http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16552
I personally am very dissapointed, especially after so many people helped me find the right hard drive to use (iphone, jean).
