The USB port has many uses. You can still use it for music as in if
friends come over with some tunes on a USB device.

I use TinySC almost everyday. Is it perfect, it is not, nor is SBS. Yes
SBS is much more powerful and I use it whenever I am at home. Yet TinySC
on the Touch works great for me in the car, at the cabin on the
weekends, or any other time I am away from my home SBS server. One
basically has to know its limits, make the correct choice in USB
drives, and not expect it to be SBS. I have not had a crash since the
early Beta stages.

Of course there is always using the USB port for power to an external
'device'
(http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2005/12/how_to_make_a_usb_menorah.html)
keeping with the holiday theme already started.
