I've got a bunch of Western Digital drives and the one thing I can't stress enough is to disable that stupid, stupid WD Smatware. I hate, hate, hate that they put that partition that acts like a cd and takes away space I could actually use. So plug it into a computer and see if you end up with 2 partitions, one a hard drive the other a cd. If you do then go to the Western Digital support page and download the smartware uninstaller, which won't actually uninstall in, it just disables that partition, which is another thing I hate, you can't get that space back. Anyway after it's disabled until you run that program with that drive again, it won't ever appear.
One other thing, make sure you register the warranty at the WD site too. I got one of those exact drives and mine showed up DOA, which is a first for me. So I'm going thru a warranty exchange right now, but you never know what can happen during the warranty period, so be prepared. Hope that helps a bit. -- rayman1701 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ rayman1701's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41326 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83586 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
