LOL. Well, I personally prefer tactile buttons for answering, dialing,
and other phonecall-related stuff (I like being able to dial a
memorized number while driving, without taking my eyes off the road,
which is impossible with a touch screen). Other than that, yes. My
Desire works well as a mobile phone. Oh, one more thing: It heats up my
ear pretty badly. But I like to keep my calls short and/or use a
hands-free set anyway.

It is nothing like my HTC TyTn which I literally crushed in frustration
over its sheer shittyness, vowing not to buy another HTC again in at
least ten years. (A vow I obviously broke, when the Desire became too
desireable and my Nokia N95 too old and slow - and my workplace bought
it for me so technically I'm still good).

I updated the firmware of my Desire the day before yesterday. It seems
to have become slightly faster (I had no complaints about the speed to
begin with), and the gmail app seems to work better; other than that I
can't notice any difference.
