I have no idea how tech-savvy your folks are, but at the risk of sounding "age-ist" I think that unless they have an existing audio system that they already use regularly, a Boom or a Radio may be a better solution. The buttons-and-knobs interfaces are likely to be more familiar, and more forgiving, than the touchscreen. And if the main intent is to listen to radio stations from back home then the six physical preset buttons are a _huge_ convenience.
