Yes you can use a duet controller to control the Touch, it doesn't matter where the server is, internal, external or mysb.com.
You DO need a wireless router up and running though. Both the Touch and controller are wifi clients, they need an access point to mediate between them. Even if you have the wireless on the Touch turned on it won't talk directly to the controller. The duet had a mode where it would talk to a controller without a wireless router, but the Touch does not have this.
